New Me

by AnnMarie   Jan 26, 2006

You'll buy me a drink,
Maybe two or three,
You might even walk me out the door
and get me a taxi.

You'll pay for the tab,
and walk me up the steps
all this you'll do
just for some meaningless sex.

The next morning you'll be gone,
leaving me just as empty as the night before.
Just like all the others,
reminding me of last night with the condom on the floor.

I'll go about my day,
washing away my memory of you.
I'll buy myself some coffee maybe some new shoes
all the while, making a new me and finding a new you.

I thought it was a good poem again, it is kind of realistic which is unfortunatily true.
    great job again

^ I love the ending it is so powerful and really sums up the whole poem. I think you could improve it by taking away and adding a few syllables here and there, making the flow better. Other than that I like it, it tells a sad story... 5/5
