Is It Too Much to Ask?

Oh woman so beautiful, oh woman so vain
The sun has set upon the horizon, and everything remains the same
The trees have shaved their unwanted leaves, and yet nothing has changed
A blanket of snow begins to cover the city
And the flowers being to reach for the skies
And yet, you still plan to go on with it

Do you really believe that this decision will set you free?
For it will just create the chains that will live forever inside of thee
Im so close to daylight, and yet so far away
I dream of the chance my voice wills be heard, I pray

If not for yourself, then do this for me
Give me a chance, because you are my key
Break down the wall that you placed before me
I hope to have a future, and let my eyes daylight see

Is it too much to ask, to see the colors of the rainbow arch upon the sky?
To feel a raindrop touch my skin, to be able to cry
Is it too much to ask, to take a breath and feel the crisp air?
To take a scent of the roses, to have someone who cares

Is it too much to ask, to be able to imagine, to be able to dream?
Take to the sky, soar very high, and see what I havent seen
Is it too much to ask, to be able to love, to be able to hate
To feel, let my emotions run wild, to decide my own fate

Is it too much to ask to laugh and be able to smile?
To experience joy, feel happiness within my soul, find out why life is worthwhile
Is it too much to ask, to fight for myself and lead my own path
I dont want to trace footsteps, I want to create my own, create my own wrath

Whatever you decide, you know that it is ultimately up to you
A flower so delicate can turn my sun into a darkening moon
Free me from this cage and allow me to see the sky so blue
Is it too much to ask to be able to see your face soon?

Experiance and imagination co-incide, to have a lot of experiance in sad things makes you more open to imagine them!!

It came off where it could be taken for many other meanings and not just the one you portrayed. Nice flow and words with the imagery of the metaphors. Really it had been something good but not exactly one that I was interested in during the middle. Strong beginning and ending.
