My Fateful Death

by MemoirsOfMe   Apr 25, 2006

I feel his breath
Cold like the winter wind
A blow against my bare neck
Signaling he wasnt going to end

His pursuit was final
The target was me
Watching me in his blank eyes
Warning me he was near

I knew who he was
His complexion pale as chalk
It wasn't hard to decide
Of what he really did want

He whispered in my ear
Talked about my life
He told me he had always known
Just out of plain sight

I couldnt escape him
He was unstoppable, it seemed
No matter how fast I ran
It was just like some foolish dream

In a flash of lightning he stood
His blank eyes stared
I knew what he thought
I couldn't take it any longer

His soft touch was gentle
But cold as ice
I froze with fear
Realizing it was the end of my life

Light traveled toward me
Blinding me in its path
I was going on a journey
Far, far, off

He, his eyes, his touch...

Was my fateful Death
