Asking for Brighter Days

by ChrisT   May 5, 2006

I've asked about the brightest day
But this is just a world of black and gray
Where the wind blows soft and white
And the evening birds have no flight

I've asked the old man
How can you still stand?
When your firey glow
Now, is burning so low
How does it all end?
When lives begin to decend
And the tears fall like rain
How did you deal with all the pain?
When your hearts were one
And with no warning fell to none
I ask you again
How did you deal with all the pain?

He turned to me to say
In life there is just no way
No way to deal with the pain
No way to stop nature and her rain

As for my heart
When it's torn apart
There's still no way to deal
With all the ways that I feel
I dream of her still
'Till my evening drinks make me ill

He turned again took a drink
With nothing left to think
His ending saddened face
Seemed torn by lifes long race

Now sitting with an almost knowing mind
I see the answers I sought out to find
Thanks to that old man
That stranger of a long lost fan
I know what I need to do
And I'm going to see it through
