Touched by an Angel-(Like an Old Re-run)

In the matter of a moment
Confusion, fear, and death combine
Teaching those left to fully live their life
"Her death shouldn't be in vain" they say
As you slowly try to creep away
Angry at God for taking the best
Person and friend anyone could have ever met
Breathing, moving, laughter shared
All ended with a thousand tears
Pain comes like the wind
And it can be too much to bear
Like whispers in the rain, you can feel her here
On the porch of a broke down cabin
Sitting in from the storm
A death in slow-motion we try to transform
Amazing how hard we try so much to be
Tough, happy, and free
Alive in a nightmare, I could truly feel it all
watching, watching-helpless to your fall
There was nothing we could do
Nothing is known now of what we should do
I stare out the window, and think of the Montana sky
Asking again "Why her, Lord, why?"
Emotion thunders through me
Prevent it, I cannot
It rages through my body
Along with guilty thoughts
I just wanted to be there,
If only when she died
But I failed even with that,
So why should I get to live my life?
