Closing chapter

by Abena   Apr 2, 2008

Destiny whispered your soulful name in my ear
but you were no where to be found.

The night sky was the deepest blue;
stars by their thousands gave their brightest glow,
but your presence was no where to be felt.

You were no longer there for
me to hold when my legs faded beneath me.
The blinding years had
flown by in glimpses of despair
and you weren't in it.

The burning flame in my heart,
overshadowed and blown out by the
gust of lies you tell, soon I hoped it
would be ignited again from your
kiss which created fireworks of love.

Soon, I realised you were my closing chapter,
and my mending heart still bleed.
I began looking for what I knew
I would never find: you.

The wind started moving soundlessly around me, reminding me of what I had lost.

In time I realised I should have
held you tighter, held the memories a little longer instead of leaving it all behind.
