The unacted script

by Abena   Nov 1, 2009

Its like a bullet running at the speed of light
The target- me

You said forever and always but time has shown its many faces
You said now and forever as farewells are whispered into the wind
You said, you said many things, but words are actions waiting to fail

This is the final blow, the bullet pierces me
But a wounded person cannot strife for what is hers
I have what was
Just like the sand, I placed you in my hand
In its innocence, I watched it run down between my fingers

Yes, every time I put pen to paper you were my inspiration
Every letter, every word, every punctuation, I wrote you

I guess you've confirmed what wasn't
What wouldn't
What couldn't

But speak not of what might have been
Because you've collected a rose, and its time to distribute it

This might have been inevitable
The waiting script to be acted out
The endless forevers
You've collected your rose its time to distribute it

There will come a time where in a picture
The entire colours will be laid bare
And there will be no where to hide

You've seen the glimpses of hope my heart, my life, my entire being has to offer
Shut the door on your way out

Its like a bullet, released at the speed of light
The target- me
