Baseball

by Beautiful Forever   Apr 3, 2008

The green waves of the breeze,
Flowing across the field,
These moments make time freeze,
In a world we all keep sealed,

The sun shines on our faces,
Our smiles brighter than ever,
Always running to different places,
Wishing we could run forever,

The cracking sound of a bat,
Signals the game to begin,
Although it seems like combat,
In our hearts we always win,

The ball is high in the air,
I'm running to meet its location,
Wishing that I could get there,
The pressure feels like suffocation,

My body slides across the grass,
The heavy weight lands in my glove,
My teammates cheer as they mass,
Creating that moment I love,

The sun sinks into the ground,
As my team and I stand tall,
Shouting on the pitchers mound,
About how we all love Baseball...

Why has no one commented yet? This is brilliant! You wrote this so well and I am so amazed! :)

"The green waves of the breeze,
    Flowing across the field,
    These moments make time freeze,
In a world we all keep sealed,"

You completely drew me in here, and I had to keep reading.

"My body slides across the grass,
The heavy weight lands in my glove,
My teammates cheer as they mass,
    Creating that moment I love,"

Your rhyme is so great here, you were so descriptive I could imagine watching this!

Great ending, just a wonderful way to end it.
The rhyme and flow throughout this poem was terrific and you just described baseball so wonderfully. I really enjoyed reading this, so keep writing and take care!
