Darkness

Darkness takes over my life
Sending me into eternal darkness
With no hope and broken wings
It seems no one could save me
The hole of darkness has no bottom
With no escape from it
I fall and fall
I fall forever unless someone saves me
But who would want to go after me in the darkness?
Except...the Angel of Light who saves souls from the darken depth
The light will battle the darkness to defeat it
Light will try and pull me from its grasp
Who is trying to save me?
The Light reveals my dearest friend
They take my hand and say it's okay'
They say they will help me escape the darkness
Their smile warms my cold heart
And my ankles are free from the shackles placed on them
They hold me close and protect me from the shadows
Tears fall from their eyes when they see me in pain
The keep me close and defend my heart from the shadows
It tries and tries to pull me back in
But my beloved angel protects me
The darkness rears its ugly head and pries me away from my angel
And it pulls me deeper and deeper in it
My angel cries out and attacks it once again
He holds me close and flies out of the depth
My angel saves my life along with my hope
