Up All Night

It's 1am and I'm wide awake,
Wondering, "How long will it take?"
Until I fall asleep and dream,
Of a nightmare that makes me scream,

It's 2am and I'm still wide awake,
Thinking, "When is daybreak?"
As I stare out my window at the night,
Knowing that something isn't right,

It's 3am and I hate that I'm awake,
My whole body is starting to ache,
My eyes are bloodshot and sore,
I don't think I can take it anymore,

It's 4am and I can't believe I'm awake,
I just want to sleep for goodness sake,
But I guess thats too much to ask,
Sleeping isn't such a simple task,

It's 5am and I'm sick of being awake,
I fear that my sanity is at stake,
I'm looking for anything to save me,
From this night full of misery,

It's 6am and I've given up on sleep,
I'm so depressed that I could weep,
The sun is out and ready to play,
I guess I'm up for the rest of the day...
