Sleepless nights

Another sleepless night of tossing and turning
with so many tears falling that my eyes are burning

laying awake for hours and not being able to dream
feeling dead inside and wanting to scream

looking at the empty spot im lying next to
reaching out, but finding you're not there to hold on to

so many thoughts there are that fill my head late at night
still you're not here next to me holding me, telling me its going to be alright

you promise me that one day you're going to come
but right now without you here, look what i've become

numb to any feeling that might be shown
numb to any comfort from you that i've known

tell me that im not the only one who lays awake, that its not just me
that im not the only one drowing in this sea

this sea of depression, pain, and tears
i close my eyes and beg god to hear my prayers

that i can fall asleep for one more night
and make it safely to the next day for my love, that i make it alright
