Proud Like a God

by Cooper   Apr 28, 2008

I am the backwards God;
the streets,
the stray,
and proud to cry in the loneliness of day.

I am nailed to, a twisted circle,
to form vertices of hatred
and a full cross of love,
for me to bleed perseverance
and the seas would drink from all mothers' wombs.

I am the child unborn,
and born yet in a
shaded heart of the Earth,
beneath the eyes of many people
and to repent the darkness of day.

    First off, congrats on the win :)

    Amazing poem. I've already read it but I haven't had time to leave comment then, so here it comes:

    I like the whole idea for the poem, also, the fact that you said so much within just three stanza is admirable. Very original and refreshing read. Your choice of words is good along with fantastic metaphors. The first line pulled me deeply into the poem, it's utterly brilliant. This piece seem simpler than your usual writes but I truly love it.

    Keep up!
