Nightmares

by Trying to hold on   May 1, 2008

After taking some sleeping tablets
Snuggled into my warm, cosy bed
Music playing softly, falling asleep
For a couple of hours

Nightmares erupt of that evening
Replaying it so vividly and intensely
Every little sound, every emotion
Every single thought

Like it was happening all over again
Driving safely, carefully and happily
Out of nowhere we were crashed into
Other car speeding off

Waking screaming, crying, shivering
Believing it just happened-right then
Dad rushes to my room, comforts me
Says just a bad nightmare

It's like a horror movie you see on tv
But the twist to this is very different
It wasn't some fake-made up movie
This really did happen.
