Me and Death

I was only eight years old
When I first saw death
The thought of it makes me shiver
And loose my breath

I've seen it all
The accidents, the disease,
The pain, the suffering
And the common heart cease

I've seen it all
And I'm only 20 years of age
I've seen it all
Each time it builds up my rage

I want it to stop
To see it no more
Erase it from my mind
Forget it ever existed before

No man can live forever
Death is an inevitable end
So I ask god
Give me the means to extend

To extend their lives
And rid them from their pain
To see their loved ones
And new memories to gain

To hear the "thank you"
From their voices
To be able to continue
And make the right choices

I want to stop death
With all my might
I know I can't
But I'll put up a good fight

    OMG.What a wonderful piece.It was so touching.I want to be a doctor too and I know how hard it is to be a doctor,you may see daeth everyday as you explained in your beautiful poem.I also think about death and how much it hurts many people,but this is life.

    This was a brillant piece. the flow was great, and the subject was perfect to write about. i loved it!

    i loved that stanza, it really stuck out to me. and it also held alot of meaning. you did a wonderful job on this one. kepp up the great work! 5/5.

    Its good that u wnna be a doctor..but doctors cannot stop death..nor can you only God can..n da reason why doctors suceed in helping person not to die do is coz GOD PLANNED IT...so doctors only follow what God permits n what He doesnt permits..doesnt live...Good poem by the way..really good...

    it explains alot since you want to be a doctor

    but me and you know that death can't be controlled. only God can
    you just have to do what you can and leave the rest to God
