Father's Angel

Finding that lost girl of his
Was once his lifelong dream
To hold her in his arms
And tuck her in to sleep

But as the storm passed by
He couldn't see his treasure
For she had fallen
Into the unknown weather

He didn't look for his daughter
Just strayed off from the clutter
Finding his life
Was the only thing that mattered

Went on day by day
Still searching for his soul
But still so empty
With words that could not be told

He thought he found his love
But that love didn't fill him
Just left empty spaces
Of a broken hearted

Dad, please come save me
He heard his angel
Don't you love me?
He couldn't answer

With a hollow heart
He searched for his true love
His real angel
His little pride and joy

Over and over
Got pushed again
Still he wouldn't give up
He wouldn't let them win

He finally found her
His daughter who he loved
The last piece of his heart
That fell so long ago

Finding her in is arms
As he carried her to that stone
Tears streaming down his face
But still so strong he looked calm

Slowly he laid her down
Into that cold ground
Prayed she'd be safe
He would be with her one day

Finding his daughter
He found hope
Felt comfort
Within that soul

Softly he lay in his bed
Calmly sleeping
Nice and rested
With his last breath

He was holding his angel by the hand
