Back in to the light

by Ingrid   Aug 10, 2008

Back in to the light

In dark despair I stumbled,
roaming in a place darker then hell
The smile, once my trademark, gone
My body no more than an empty shell

All that time you meant the world to me,
carrying your cross as well as mine
As time progressed the load became unbearable,
desperately waiting for the sun again to shine

I had to break free from the chains
The need for freedom and air to breathe
became my number one priority
And then I discovered what lay hidden underneath

A wall with a door painted on it
A beautiful chocolate with just hollow space inside
Is what you are, you never cared for me
I am leaving you now, to return into the light

Dedicated to my former Dutch hero
