Tomorrow, They Say, Is Always a New Day

I've never been happier to see a door close in my face,
Never been more excited to feel my heart up a pace,
But the moment you turned and walked away from me,
Was the first time in a long time that I've felt this free.
It was a breath of fresh air, exhaling from our fight,
Especially knowing I didn't have to beg and make it right.

I kicked off my old running shoes in exchange for my new dancing shoes,
Tapped my feet to the beat of my heart along the rooftops, singing the blues,
And at the top of my lungs, I bragged that you finally let me go,
Layed under the stars, and watched my broken smile glow.

I thought about going out and really showing you I care,
So I spent three hours doing my make-up and my hair,
But then I realized I was only trying to impress you still,
So I opened my bottle of kerosene, caused an accidental spill,
And took a match to everything you ever stood for.

The house started to look a little better without you standing there,
My shoulders felt a little lighter without your extra baggage there,
And I was finally ready to admit: I don't love you.
