She Runs On Alcohol

by Tammie   Dec 8, 2008

With those pretty promises dropping like rain
You noticed the tiny ripples it made in my eyes.
They started from the inside and worked their way out
It was then you saw straight through my perfect disguise.

You pried and you pried and you pried me apart
Until I cracked, and I'm not saying it's your fault alone
'Cause I think somewhere underneath all these sheets
I wanted it in some unfamiliar way that I've grown.

I'm constrained and convinced and convicted,
And I still don't know how I got in this bed,
I never made it nor laid in it (did you carry me here?)
'You just don't have any confidence', yet another thing you said.

I tried and I tried and I tried to say no
But it's always the false affection that catches me
And in more ways than one it rips me apart,
Now I'm left here alone, with an expired guarantee.

[No where near my best, but it's something considering my writers' block.]

This reminded me of my party which reminds me of good times, only because of the title.

I don't really have much to say to this. There was good parts, but other not so great parts too. But shot I'm glad you're writing again, even if you're still going through writers block <3
