Choices of the heart

So many different paths to follow
and one cannot take them all
If things become to hard to swallow,
think about what you could let fall

The road ahead can blind you
don 't let it end in defeat, my friend
The things that matter most to you
will remain with you until the very end

Go out into the world and kick some ass
Follow the internal voice that guides your way
Some will receive more of you and some less
Make sure you are happy at the end of the day

You cannot please them all, dear friend
Be sure to please yourself, don't keep the score
That advice will pay itself back in the end
Your inner voice you should not ignore

Do good upon others, but also upon you
When you live your life in such a way:
no regrets for what you did or didn't do
Above all, remember this: seize the day!

    personally, I think this is one of the best about friendship poems I've ever ever read..
    I have to mention my fave lines though

    Make sure you are happy at the end of the day

    Both are so wonderfully written.
    Indeed you can never please all people, or well, you can only please few, lol.

    This stanza hits home for me, I totally definitely love it, especially the first two lines.
    Ingrid I wish I could be that friend you dedicated the poem to..I would've been so very proud.

    Ingrid, We havent spoken alot for a while but I feel so privillaged to know someone with as big a heart as you have and it's great you speak to people, this poem was right from your heart, your friend is also very privillaged.
    Just so you know, I have been catching up on all your poems this week but just now been able to comment, sorry.
    And you still write Ingrid-ly Beautiful

    Good advice. Take care of yourself first and things will fall into place in the end. Don't take on too much in life and things that really do matter will be there with you in the end for you. Good work. 5/5
