Piece of Childhood (other voice)

by Stephanie   Dec 20, 2008

Memories flood back into your heart,
As you hold me in your arms,
My soft plush between your fingertips,
As you stoke me,
A piece of childhood

You've once known me and loved so dearly,
Me, a piece of childhood that's a copy in a store
But to you I meant so much more

You realize that I've been through it all,
While you pick at my tattered cloth,
And the breaking string at the seams
I've been through your heartache and trouble,
When your tears from your face leaked into my paws
And the soft whispers of hopes, dreams, fears,
Whispered into my ears

You feel the joy, love, and comfort,
As you gaze into my glassy eyes
And once more,
Memories of childhood flood back into your heart,
As you hold me in your arms
