Darren Plumley

by hayley williams   Jan 10, 2009

The messages keep flooding in
Sadness, grief and utter loss
For a boy so full of love and life
Soon a grave marked with a cross

New Years Eve 2008
Normally a time of celebration
A frenzied attack took place
Taking away gods best creation

A local boy, Darren Plumley
Just twenty five years old
His family completely destroyed
Their world now forever cold

3 men took his life away
Cowards fighting in a pack
Darren never stood a chance
Found bloody after their attack

Left in the road, outside alone
A solitary tear fell from his eye
Praying to god in his mind
"Please don't let me die"

Hours later in the hospital
Injuries covering his face and head
Darren took his last breath
With his family around his bed

His parents lost their baby
His brother grieves for his best friend
Friends crying constantly
For a boy on who they could depend

Darren's smile will never fade
From the minds of people he knew
A cheeky grin always on his face
No matter what he was going through

Darren's life on earth was ended
By thugs on that fateful night
But still he wore that smile
As God drew him towards the light
