One Bite

by Light A Way   Jan 22, 2009

You are the perfect blend of tastes,
Sweet enough to satisfy even my hunger,
Flavored with just the right amount,
Of your own very secret ingredient

I swear that pure magic escapes,
Throughout every part of your body,
My heart sizzles in the palm of your hand,
Melting just like butter over an open flame

Your words are good enough to eat,
Swallowing each of them like honey,
They go down so smooth and warm,
Wanting more each time I finish

I try very hard to control my urge,
The scent that you give off pulls me in,
My tongue needs just one bite,
Hinting on it with only my blue eyes

Looking into your eyes I can't pull away,
All of me becomes mushy inside and out,
Like a batch of cookies fresh out of the oven,
Hot to the touch, yet you grab one anyway

One bite is all I desire to have from you,
A taste of what makes me not able to resist,
One spoonful to tide me over until next time,
Every bit of me is starving for just one bite

Give me one piece of the aroma I sense
Surround me with your invigorating style,
Let me collapse into your arms forever,
Where then I can finally have my one bite

I loved all the similes you used here, this was a very creative and heartfelt poem. Every line was so deep and meaningful, this is one of my favorites from you. Excellent word choice and the flow was flawless! 5/5 from me, talk to you later...
