Don't think of me as gone

by ben thompson   Jan 23, 2009

Don't think of me as gone
My life has just begun
Stop sorrows lonely tears
Its not yet my setting sun

Rather I soar up swiftly
Gliding majestic bird of flight
smiling on my lunar passage
Draped in canvas of velvet night

Dashing through open meadows
Amber waves dance in the breeze
Lords merciful radiance and glory
Brightly shines down upon me

Lifted by lights eternal peace
Heaven's pearly gates open slow
Once again finding my feet
Familiar faces greet me as I go

Lovingly I stare back down
gazing at earth from on high
See you again soon my love
Renewing our love in the sky

Your poem is beautiful and full of hope and love. Your rhymes are perfect and the flow is great but the message is the beauty of this write. I hope that all your hopes and dreams are realized!

I love the hope in this stanza. That there is something there to still live for.

    Rather I soar up swiftly
    Gliding majestic bird of flight
    smiling on my lunar passage
Draped in canvas of velvet night

What a picture your words have painted for the minds eye.

    Dashing through open meadows
Amber waves dance in the breeze
    Lords merciful radiance and glory
    Brightly shines down upon me

Love the word choices and imagery portrayed through the entire poem.

    Lifted by lights eternal peace
    Heaven's pearly gates open slow
    Once again finding my feet
Familiar faces greet me as I go

What a wonderous feeling I got when reading this stanza.

    Lovingly I stare back down
gazing at earth from on high
See you again soon my love
Renewing our love in the sky

    What a great ending.

Even though this poem is sad it has a powerful message. What I take away from the write is that someone has died and gone to heaven and is telling their loved one, not to be sad or cry. That you will meet them again in heaven and your love will be renewed. Excellent write, the flow is good, simple but powerful words used to convey your message. Good job. 5/5
