Pretend

by iFallToPieces   Jan 30, 2009

I am going to pretend,
Like nothing at all is wrong,
I am going to fake it,
And pretend to be strong.

I am going to hide,
The cuts under my sleeve,
I am going to pretend,
And hope everyone believes.

I will fake my little smile,
Laugh like nothings wrong,
Try to pretend,
And fake it all day long

Until I get home,
And I will fall apart,
Softly shut my door,
And make my own sort of art.

The next day will be the same,
I will wear my fake smile,
Laugh when I have to,
And hope it lasts awhile.

But one day,
And I hope it is soon,
I will cut too deep,
And I will be gone of all my gloom

There will be no more fake smiles,
From a girl who just pretends,
No more fake laugh,
For the girl who wants it to end.

Wow, this is really deep. I love the simplicity of it. The flow was great. Just over all a great poem :)

Well another great write from you. Again you have nailed down the theme that you have explored.I like the idea of putting on a fake smile. You'll be surprise by how many people who actually looks happy are actualli depress. I just want to tell that you're not alone. Life is about the choices that we make...it's really up to us whether we make our life happy or sad.Keep up the good work

    Excellent Job
