You only once met

by Joshua Reimer   Mar 13, 2009

The one thing your mind cannot forget
Is of the girl you only once met
You've seen her, you've heard her, she's touched your heart
And when she leaves it all falls apart
If only you stayed to say goodbye
If only you knew she was going to die
One week later you get a phone call
Something has happened in a school hall
The girl you liked was shot with a gun
As someone yelled "call 911"
The paramedics arrive but it is too late
This girl has been taken into the hands of fate

Wow this is an interesting write. I like that you have penned this down in a narrative manner. Who would have thought that the girl whom you like would have a tragic fate. But nonetheless you did a great job on this poem.keep it up

This is very tragic poem though I can relate to the theme of not be able to forget a brief infatuation that through fate was cut short

    I liked this poem nonetheless
    well done
