They still talk of hope. `For contest.

by ASPHYXIATED   Mar 26, 2009

They still talk of hope;

Bitter lies dripped from your tongue,
the sweetest smell of betrayal,
For when the friendship had just begun
you pushed for it to fail.
An unhealthy thirst for drama
lived deep within your veins,
you craved to be the talk of the town
but now no talk remains.
Yet only I see through you
like the clearest window pane,
for its like a mirror image
reflecting my inner shame.

They still talk of hope, they still speak of love
with the strongest of faith in their heart.
But each step that you take, you're starting to break
this trust that we share apart.
They still talk of hope, they still speak of love,
their naive little minds hard at play,
So each time that you crave, is the time to be brave,
before you push us away.

Excellent work, I truly enjoyed each and every line, you have such a way with words. Every line was extremely entrancing to me, and never bored me. The meaning behind those lines was so immense and there was much emotions portrayed. Great descriptions that gave me clear visuals and made me enjoy this write even more!
Nice job, keep writing, always and forever...

5/5 from me, take care and good luck with the contest!

    God Bless You!
