A Soul

by Sylvia   May 13, 2009

Human embodiment,
anguished, wounded.
Torment ne'er leaves,
ecstasy then agony,
renders the spirit impotent.

An apparition, it exists in perception only.
The essence, a phantom,
sensed, no physical reality.
Immaterial part of a person,
actuating cause for an individual life.

Beingness, transcendence
beyond limits of material experience.
Meaningless words, of no significance
to a tortured soul.

Something very strongly conveyed. Rich with strong metaphors. Very touchy write. Makes a mark indeed.
