The things I carry.

by OMGdanielle   May 14, 2009

**note: This poem was a school assignment. it is based off the book The Things They Carried. I would like feedback before i submit it to class. Thank you**

A cell phone keeps me in the loop,
Always knowing what’s going on.
No more surprises
My Tide pen, because I’m so messy.
No more embarrassment
My wallet is worth more than the money inside it,
But hopefully, not for long.
No more food pantry
A travel sized flashlight is my own personal sun.
No more blindness
These pen caps take the backlash of my anxiety-
Instead of my nails, I chew them.
No more enamel
