TV Words

by BlueEyedMystery   Jun 29, 2009

Just another pointless poem
with bitter, worthless words
dripping from my fingers
just wanting to be heard.
Have you ever heard the sound
of words falling out,
from a soul that's given up,
and would just rather drown?
It's disastrous and deadly,
especially for that soul
who wants to swim real deep,
and hope [prays]
it doesn't come back whole.
So many wasted secrets
I'd never say aloud,
so many things inside me,
that whisper ever so loud.
Screaming demons wake me
in the middle of the night.
Clutch my pillow tightly,
and let the TV tell me I'm alright.
Sometimes I think it's better,
just my pillow and me,
'cause then no one will know.
I'd never want anyone to see.
So I'll let you go,
without too much of a fight.
It's okay. Really.
The TV says I'm alright.

I love the 'yeah' at the end; excellent.
I've now read two of your pieces and what is apparent to me is the passion with which you write - it comes straight from the heart.
    Excellent stuff,

Those lines stand out, love them!
