Everybody gets high

by kevin Boundy AKA the ghost   Jul 20, 2009

Alright people
It is time to clear the air
Don't you try judge me
Don't you even dare

I'm a menace to society
Because of a past that haunts my dreams
You don't know about my muted cries
You don't know about my silent screams

My life is a sin because
apparently I've done nothing right
Because when I've been beaten to my knees
I still stand and try to fight

I don't deserve a statement because
My word doesn't mean a thing
Because when this song bird is caged up
I simply refuse to sing

You don't know what my life is like
You don't know what I've been through
You've never seen what I've seen
You don't have a single clue

Everything has been taken from me
There is nothing left for me
But that wasn't enough for you people
You just couldn't let me be

Its amazing i am still alive
When these memories attack my mind
How could life play out like this
How could god be so unkind

This pain racks through my body
It seems my soul is aching
I need to light up this joint
Just to keep my hands from shaking

And this is all I have
To save me from myself
It is the one and only reason
That knife sits dusty on my shelf

And you want to take that from me
My shelter from the never ending pain
You think I'm crazy now
You're about to see insane

Listen to the perfect eerie silence
Because this is where I will say goodbye
Because regardless of what you say, everybody gets low
And I know everybody gets high
