The Man in Me

by kevin Boundy AKA the ghost   Sep 12, 2009

Here I stand once again
On the edge of sanity
The child in me wants to leap
But what about the man in me

I step away from this ledge
It gets so hard to breathe
Every time I walk away from the chaos
It gets harder for me to leave

It is your laugh it is your smile
That keeps my heart intact
When I get lost within this bedlam
It is your voice that brings me back

I wish you were here right now
Because I'm lost in this confusion
I want to hear you whisper "it's alright
This is all just an illusion"

I need your touch to save me
For I feel I'm fading away
There's nothing left for me but you
You're the reason I'm here to stay

The man in me has the courage
To leave behind my tempered youth
You say "you'll manage without me"
If only you knew the truth
