The Other Half

by Jad   Oct 23, 2009

Have you ever wondered?
If people say who you are.
Is just a way to deter,
Us from who we really are.

Are we just playing a part?
In this world today,
Or is there a meaning in my heart,
That will show me the way.

Am I only half of who I should be?
Should I also be something more?
Will the truth I ever see,
Or will it remain a shut door?

Do we have another half?
Of who we will become,
Or is this the last
Of our life's run.

This answer may come.
When we are older and mature,
Or maybe to just some,
But I still want to know further.

I completely agree with raindrops. You make who you are. You cant let other people tell you who you are or influence you in any way. To get the farthest in life just be yourself. Ive also had to learn that the hard way.

    Excellent 5/5

Don't worry kiddo your the judge of yourself, ive learned that after a lot of cruel breaks ups and stuff its not always you. all you can do is decide who you want to be, thats how i found myself and my poetry just came naturally afterwords.

this piece is good, the flow needs some work right with the rhyming scheme but other then that it pretty decent 4/5

Its really sad how people have an affect on ones personality. No one should be told WHO they are or WHAT they're made of...we all decide that for ourself, and if someone has an influence on you to make you confused about who you are, you need to steer away from that person and find yourself....

    Good write!! I enjoyed
