Independence In Sight

by Poet on the Piano   Dec 30, 2009

Now and then I break out in song
coloring somber grays
like there's no end to tomorrow
happiness is one footstep away.

I'm blinded by whirlpools of light
no longer do I sadly wait
around distracting telephones
hoping for your update.

I've found my own way out
of these committing chains
and hunted down new paths
that sing of free refrains.

My lungs breathe once again
as I live in this time forever
considerate conscience whispers
telling me to never say never.

A nice write to mark independance!, in a very beautiful way :) I personally loved the second verse because it became personal to me there.
I've reached independance in my own way recently and that's why your poem speaks out to me a lot.

    Great poem!
