Parental Disgrace

by SheenaMarie   Feb 9, 2010

Everyday I wake up thinking of what should be,
what could have been and where it all went wrong.
I think I finally may have come up with an answer,
and I'll tell you both now in this tragic song.

Mom you were raised up by the christians,
Dad you were raised by true outlaws,
Mom it was your choice to turn to sinning,
and Dad sin was the only path you saw.

Both of you had made your own decision,
to drink away the youth you thought you had.
Alcohol has lead to your destructions,
because drunken choices always turn out bad.

Running from the cops became a habit
neither of you thought that you should quit.
The two of you thought nothing could touch you,
until father got this new mother pregnant.

Now, Daddy you came from a background
of violence, fears, and fighting everywhere,
and mommy you gave up education,
to do the things they said you shouldnt dare.

This is where the truth begins unfolding,
and blame slowly starts to show its painful face.
Which of you had the true advantage
to not become a parental disgrace?

Out of options, decision comes. Before you proceed, weigh the end. No pain comes without a signal. Pain is God's final instruction. Things go wrong to turn good at last.

This was tragically beautiful, and I can truly say that I know how you feel. But just like I found a true, loving parent, so can you. His name is God, and He'll never mistreat, deceive, or ignore. He works in mysterious ways, but it's all for the better in the end;)
