Evoking

Blood poured over the sun
In response to the final run
for soldiers paying the final price,
keeping one nation under God.

The pain families endure through,
None of which we knew,
foretells the final price for freedom-
lives unendingly sacrificed each day.

An etched granite slab of rock,
sustaining patriotism in binding locks.
Opens eyes to the tears of a nation
cried for its children so brave.

Words will never ever express
anything more then just lest
of what soldiers take upon themselves:
our joy, freedoms, and life.

*In dedication to the millions of soldiers who give their live every year*

I have true respect for our troops. They are willing to die for their country. This poem says Thanks to all.

A strong poem, makes one appreciate what our soldiers do for us. It definitely takes a lot of courage to stand up and fight for your country, and sacrifice their lives for us. This made me think of your trip to DC, I'm guessing that's where you got the inspiration! A nice write - probably my favorite lines were , "An etched granite slab of rock, sustaining patriotism in binding locks. Opens eyes to the tears of a nation cried for its children so brave."

Soldiers are the true heroes and were it not for them, we might not have the freedom they defend and protect everyday. It is sad when even one soldier dies for us. Well done.
