Overcome by Prey

by Poet on the Piano   Oct 31, 2010

Reveal your unobstructed purpose for me
for lonely eyes I am an entity
compared to your benevolent compositions,
you tell me I hold everything
but when I trace the lines on my hand
a tenacious web chokes all effort,
feeding a hunger for love with dry blood.

How long will I be kept at your second home?

Inscribe into my flesh your fluent love
that fights for access even near closed roads,
signs of flashing winds and tempest strong.
Write above silence the need to live
and share the story you have already placed
on the fingertips of a blessed horizon,
where you warm your beloved creation
granting them humble wings to take flight,
and kindle their own light burning inside you.
