I hang a bulb
off my ceiling fan,
praying that another
winter will empty
its hushed sorrows
and send the glass
swellings of effulgence.
Nocturnal repetition
dawns on my tranquillized
sleep, and I am left
to dream amidst
the royal and lucent
twinklings of a
boundless sky.
