Jagged

by Poet on the Piano   Jan 1, 2011

Why can't family just behave,
do the men always have to
somehow prove themselves,
their ideas, their rights?

I sit, gnawing my finger nails
in the other room, silently
praying that these trials
will cease, and lower their
accusing bellows.

When will they learn
to settle disputes in
a orderly manner,
without airborne objects
and sharp incisions.
