Eccentric

by Poet on the Piano   Jan 1, 2011

I speak the word sigh
instead of exhaling
in bodily coughs,
and prefer to smile
when I wend through
sunshine text.

Students can curl
up along their skin
and hope to smooth
out the dryness,
or they can laugh,
appreciating the art
of informal bliss.

Definitions print
themselves on empty
walls, I calculate
their chances
of amazing me.

I've learned it is
a valuable act
if you love first
with your heart,
and speak second
with your thoughts.
