Malfunction

by Poet on the Piano   Jan 19, 2011

I was breathed into the coral reef
of aqueous rocks and morning caves
and he saw me gulping,
with my lungs thrust aside,
my flesh torn from parchment.

Vicariously he embroiled
his enchantment upon a zephyr
where it descended and bled
on my cloak of many physiognomies.

The criminal waters parted their tongues
and he met me on the sunken coven;
I smoldered his candle in his mind
while he drafted heavy wax on my
wounds; he suffered as I burned
under his creation of fear's treasure.
