Filtering through me

by Poet on the Piano   Jan 28, 2011

I tore into the darkness
wiping away excess of pain;
you found this outer window
and poured a weightless presence
past my trembling.

Your lantern I touched delicately,
realizing your eyes were the source
of moon's epiphany and transformation
from a crescent sun to a lifting angel.

I felt a flutter in my veins
and you were preaching truth,
such orthodoxy I yearned for.

You gave everything,
in return for my pride.
