Dreams Are For People

by Lady Nik   Feb 2, 2011

Paint on your face
from blood stained brushes
Let the world hide
behind your tears.

You're a hero
just the way you are,
Broken. Defeated. Alone.

Who wouldn't love
a girl made from the
wounds of past lives?
Who wouldn't want
someone attached to a string?

Like a puppet you hang there
waiting for someone to touch
your heart. Make it beat...
give you a reason to push
out a breath of toxic air.

Will someone ever find you
and release you from this
string called the past?
Let your feet fall to the ground
and walk you to your future...

That's just a dream--

But only people have dreams
and your just a puppet.

This reminds me of a wooden puppet a
manequin standing there like a show but
with deep feelings which are ignored..a touching write.

This is such a beautifully sad piece.

    Will someone ever find you
    and release you from this
    string called the past?
Let your feet fall to the ground
and walk you to your future...

    That's just a dream--

    But only people have dreams
    and your just a puppet.

Sometimes we have so much pain in our lives it feels like we are tied down by the people that hurt us. One day your feet will touch the ground again.
    Excellent job!

Again nice work. I get the impression that the puppet is really a person attached to that string of the past and lets the past and other people control their life.
