Temporarily

by Poet on the Piano   Feb 5, 2011

After our first light,
the vows began to dim
and I had visions of you
leaving wordlessly.

Blithe organs rang
while church bells
laughed festively,
yet you seemed deaf
to the world,
to your promise,
to our life.

I still don't know
where you went
that was so critical,
to leave me bandaged
with summer's mocking
flowers, the ones you
timelessly picked out

Oh no. So sad, but yet another one I love. Another one I want to nominate.

It is kind of like this abandonment happened so suddenly and you were just left there hanging on wondering why and what just happened.

    "Visions of you leaving wordlessly"
    - that is such an amazing line. I know it doesn't really make it easier when someone leaves just because they do speak, or give a reason why, but then I think for me it does, because then I will never be always wondering why. I think I always like knowing exactly why people do things, and why things happen to me, and to think of someone leaving without goodbye is not something which I can cope with, in fact it is probably something I think is the worst feeling in the world sometimes.

you have portrayed a great message here and I really related to it right now, so glad I stumbled on this poem. I love reading old work!!!
