How do I ask you?

by Poet on the Piano   Feb 6, 2011

I am tempted by what you have created,
the beautifully innocent I have unclothed
into judgement and shame of one who waits,
tortured and yearning a cleaner horizon.
It seems vain to try and tell you who I am
since I do not know; the times I try to discern
I only end up hating myself and my soul.

You gave much more than we could fathom,
a cross you continue to carry for all of us
and I feel every breath I do not deserve.

Please touch me with your grace
for I want to understand why,
why you still stand here holding
a heart bloodied and broken.

I am not worthy, but you tell me again
Your Love is for all, unselfishly open.
Help me be with You, always united.
I want to get to know you,
with a heart ready, beating for Your Love.
