Warbird

by End Of Eternity   Feb 7, 2011

If we could swim deep in vortex
And we justify corporate world
Things would become so transparent
With manipulated peace hurled

Fame, Glory, Grand illusions
Shameless acts of modern wisdom
Vindicated as prophecy
Whilst superseding freedom

Architecture of progression
Painted on hovering warbird
Dropping crimson cheese
Though none could be heard

Desire, Greed, Grand reality
Conscious being ostracized
Faith wrapped in green
Every drop of religion dried

In America, the most popular "religion" is capitalism and "God" is the green dollar.

    Nice job with this!

    Powerful statement.

Curious about your choice of 'justify' in line 2.
How would that make things transparent; I say that in the sense that corporations are adept at justifying their 'non-disclosure'

    Manipulated peace hurled
    ^^^
I take this to have a double meaning:
1 - That the exposure of corporate doings causes much of the industrial-military complex to colapse & bring peace to those areas affected
2 - That the complacency allowing the rise & continuation of corporate greed is a thing manipulated by the corporations themselves, so that exposure gives rise to confrontation of this evil.
I suspect you worded the poem to capture both meanings, whether deliberatly or unconsciously.

Also, did you mean 'conscience' in line 16.

    Great work.

I really liked this poem. The message is really suited for how the world is today and I think you hit just about everything on target. The poem itself was full of life and good messages that one can glean from reading. :] The flow of the poem was rather smooth and went line from line. There were also a lot of emotions hidden in this poem that can be felt as well. Great job and keep writing.
