Holiness

by Poet on the Piano   Feb 9, 2011

We are all called to live a holy life
whether by taking vows of celibacy,
becoming sisters of chastity,
leading our family faith in marriage,
or deeming God our spouse through single life.

A prayer for vocation is more than a desire
to know our future steps and guidelines,
it is a deep hunger to envelop Love
and let it take hold of our strengths.
We may want what we think will withhold
our survival, but our race is blackened
with natural human error, how can we trust?
How can we know for certain, we are right?
Let us trust the One Creator, who carved
a divine walk of faith for us to take on.

He is calling us to sacrifice,
whatever religious occupation we choose,
we can still find Him through life's illusion.
Will we reply with Love's gift?

Author notes

Great discussions from my sophomore retreat at my high school, such truth is put in our hearts, will we seek it out?
