With skin in chains

by Poet on the Piano   Feb 10, 2011

I am the soul of this town,
feeding ostracized families
with my heart's blues.

We are the same
through our thoughts,
we all long to be felt.

Take my rhythms
not my dignity;
move by freedom
not by separate eyes.

I am like you
my livid friends,
I just want to escape
the pain to be heard.

Do you understand?
We all need a push
to join bodies
without such harsh acts.

Let's start to
improvise
a generation
blessed and defined.
