Love Means War!

by Jack Nightengale   Feb 21, 2011

You twist and you twirled,
I tried to give you the world.
Everything I had I gave, my heart and my trust,
You acted like I didn't exist, you treated me like dust.

I'm done with your stupid love games,
I've had it with the stupid little names.
All your excuses are starting to sound the same,
You brought this on yourself, you have no one to blame.

This is what you wanted, this is what you asked for,
Now I'm bringing it straight to your front door!
Remember that this heart doesn't belong to you anymore,
Now you know that Love Means War!

Wow!! this was seriously so amazing!! i really related to your poem and you have such a brilliant and unique style of writing!!

"Everything I had I gave, my heart and my trust,
You acted like I didn't exist, you treated me like dust." - this really captured me, my ex boyfriend use to physically and emotionally abuse me so badly and yet i loved him so much but he could never resipricate that love. (after so many years)

"All your excuses are starting to sound the same,
You brought this on yourself, you have no one to blame." - once i heard a saying, i don't know who it was by but it was "excuses are the cruches of the uncommitted" and when i read that part of your poem it reminded me of that.

over all i loved this poem!! excellent job, keep it up :)
