Peaceful (Tanka)

by Sylvia   Apr 25, 2011

My favorite chair,
eyes closed, warmed by the sun's rays
a cool breeze blowing,
birds singing, crickets chirping
sounds of nature, solitude.

Me likes!!!! :] You have written a very beautiful Tanka and I am glad to see that you wrote it using all the guidelines. Many people think you can change certain guidelines because of whatever reasons and I am glad you sticked to it. :] The imagery is very beautiful and I can easily see everything. This is such a relaxing piece and lets my mind just calm itself and is put in a state of relaxation.

All in all, I really like this poem and though you have this poem in the poems about life section I still find it has a great deal of nature in it and it is very beautiful. You have a wonderful talent and I am glad to see you using it and I hope to see you use it in the future. Great job and keep writing!
