The Life Of Hope.

by Poet on the Piano   Jun 23, 2011

Hope is our strongest way to believe,
the sun still rising in a city of destruction
where we make weapons instead of pacts.

All around, night is consuming sleep.
A father abandoning his family with anger.
Mother losing her children one by one.
A daughter lost in an abusive relationship.
Son letting himself fall to depression.

But hope doesn't give up on these voices
that call out, it finds substance in the rubble.
When our heartbeats all lose their fight,
hope shows truth through eyes of light.

Blindness is no match.
Hope is too strong.
It's sweetness is a pure melody we can remember.
It won't be forgotten.
We can't live without her.
